About Amber

Amber’s painting is inspired by her life-long interest in the dangerous and healing properties of plant life. She seeks to retain a connection to nature where industrialisation has scarred the landscape of her environment.

The starting point for Amber’s work is foraging and collecting wild plants, which directs the palette and composition. She paints with an almost trance-like abandonment. The paintings evolve as she watches the creation of colour, texture and shape. She takes on a symbiotic relationship of creator and observer. Amber ‘just knows’ when the process is complete.
