About Ann
Ann’s sculptures explore the notion of presence and in particular her own existence in the world. Using only the sense of touch to draw, unusual markings emerge on self modelled ceramic bodies.
Through a heightened awareness of her body, Ann creates exaggerated scale in the relationship between head and torso. An unconscious strangeness appears on a familiar figurative shape. There is energy and sensitivity in the cold, hard material that brings these remarkable figures to life. We are invited to follow the lines and shape with our own touch to share the experience.
