About Nina

Nina’s work explores a nostalgic, secret inner world that is imagined from discarded objects she collects. Dreams, memories and stories unfold as she opens wooden boxes or lifts the lid on old tins.

In the abandoned everyday items that we disregard, Nina finds beauty and deeper meaning. There is an innocence and familiar charm to her doll-like figures that, upon closer or longer inspection, masks a sense of tension, fragility and macabre. We may take away hope and laughter or be haunted by what we reveal.
